J League Preview

The J League is the name for the Japanese league, and it has recently started, so I’m here to give you a preview of it and what teams and players to watch out for this season.

Players to watch out for:

Yasuto Wakaizaka is one of the players to watch out for, as he’s a box-to-box midfielder and Japanese international who plays for Kawasaki, who’s rated highly and will be a player to watch out for as he hopes to have a good campaign this season.

Another player to watch out for is Kuryu Matsuki. I’ve already done a piece on him, but he is definitely one to watch as his tenacious play and high work rate will attract teams from Europe, who will fight for his signature if he has another good season.

Another person to also watch for is Jiro Nakamura, who at 19 is a talented player to watch out for this season as he plays at right wing but can play any role that shows off his creative side, which is his best trait and will be key for his club to have some success this season.

Teams to watch out for:

One team to look out for is the Yokohama F. Mariners, as they will hope to build on their good league position after a successful campaign last season that saw them win the league.

Another team to watch out for is Vissel Kobe, who will want to improve on their poor season last year, as they finished a lowly 13th, and with talent like Iniesta Muto and Yuya Osaka, they will hopefully have a better season this year.

One more team to look out for is Kawasaki Frontale, as they will hopefully want to become champions again after falling second to Yokohama F. Mariners, and with the talent at their disposal, they could have enough to do it.

Overall, it will be a good season and hopefully showcase some more young talent that could become good players in the future, who could follow in the footsteps of Mitoma and Kubo and attract clubs from Europe.

Hopefully this gives a good preview of what might happen over the upcoming months in the J League and will make more clubs take a look at this league, as there is plenty of talent in that league who would be a good improvement to squads around the world.
