This is a rematch of last season’s Champions League final, with both teams not having the best of seasons. Real Madrid are still in the title battle but are 8 points off rivals Barcelona, whilst Liverpool sit in 8th place, 19 points from the top.
They both go into the game in good form, with them both having won their past two games and keeping two clean sheets at the same time, so it’s going to be hard to decide who wins this game.
They both have talent at their disposal, with Real Madrid boasting talent like Vinicius and Fede Valverde, while Liverpool have Gakpo and Nunez, who are in form at the moment and will hope to keep it up.
One player to certainly look out for is Spanish youngster Stefan Bajcetic, who has recently caught the eye with his performances, and he will want to keep it up against the European champions as his energy provides a good nature to his team.
It’s going to be a battle of the midfield, and another midfielder to look out for is Federico Valverde, who’s a Uruguayan international. He has had a stellar season this year, showing the world his quality, and if he gets space near the Liverpool box, he can do some damage as he has a good shot on him, so Liverpool will hopefully want to stop that.
These managers have met a few times over the year, with Ancelotti getting the better of him the past 2 meetings, so he would hope to get the better of him again.
Overall, it’s definitely going to be a good game, which could go either way as Liverpool have home advantage in the first leg, which could give them the edge as their fans are like an extra man.
My prediction is a 2-1 Liverpool win with Jota and Gakpo scoring for the hosts and Valverde scoring for Madrid, but it could go either way, so who knows what could happen?
