Nestory Irankuda is the next Australian sensation and has burst onto the scene more recently, as his goal in the Pride Cup has launched him into the limelight at the moment, and I’m here to tell you all about him.
He is a very versatile player, as he can play on both flanks and even in the center, making him a key player for Adelaide United. His big strength is his speed, which allows him to glide past players and keep the ball in tight spaces, which he’s good at. His decision-making is good as well, as he seems to make the right pass in the final third, which allows him to create good chances for his other teammates to take on.
One of his biggest weaknesses in his game is his concentration, as he often reacts badly to mistakes or tackles, and his work rate out of possession isn’t that great either, so he will hopefully want to improve on that if a big club comes in for him in the future, as he would be easily punished playing at a higher level.
Overall, I think he will be a good talent for the future, as at only 17, he’s already got five goals in 23 appearances for his club, which is a good scoring output, especially for his age, and he can only improve on that.
He is destined for greatness if he keeps this form up, and he will be key in the new wave of Australian talent with Harry Soutarr and Garang Kuol leading the new wave, especially Kuol, as he and Nestory could be the next starting wingers for Australia for years to come.
He probably won’t be able to get a move to Europe till 2024, but I’m sure a whole range of clubs will be sniffing around him, so if he keeps it up, he’s going to be a star, and hopefully he lives up to the hype he’s bringing.
