Wales vs Usa Game Review

The game started with the American team dominating and soon they would have the first chance of the game as Weah whipped in a good ball into the six-yard box which almost forced an own goal by Rodon who almost turned the ball beyond his own goalkeeper it was a lucky escape for Wales. Then the American side were picking up needless yellow cards as Dest and Mckinnie both picked up yellow cards after clattering into Neco Williams.

The Welsh side were struggling to get going in the first half as the Americans were dominating and soon the goal came after all the domination as Pulisic played an exquisite ball to Tim Weah who neatly tucks the ball into the bottom corner, and you can say that wasn’t deserved after all the domination this first half Wales seem miles off it and it will take something to hopefully get back in the game.

Second half comes and Rob Page decides to take off Dan James and put on Kieffer Moore and it soon paid off as the Welsh side were now having more of the ball and were creating more chances which almost made them comeback into this game as from the Harry Wilson free kick Bale wins the header and nods it on to Ben Davies who’s headed effort forced Matt Truner into a huge save. This was just the start of the Welsh domination as from that resulting corner Kieffer Moore almost pulls Wales level as his header was just over the bar.

The game started to liven up a bit more in the first half it was a total American domination then in the second half it has been the opposite and the Welsh team have dominated, and all the domination paid off as from a nice move from Brennan Johnson he plays it to Bale who was hacked down by Zimmerman in the box which meant it was a stone wall penalty and gave Wales the chance to draw level which Bale took as he smashes the ball into the top of the net to score the first world cup goal for Wales since 1958 and cementing him into Welsh international football history. Wales were now pressing for a winner, and they almost found it as Brennan Johnson Raced through on goal, but he could only shoot it straight at Turner as he didn’t have many other options on. It was a good result from both sides to take into the games on Friday which will be key for both sides.

Man of the Match: Tyler Adams

He was faultless for his and he never stopped running from the first minute till last and the stats did show that as he completed the most tackles and won the most duals and lead his team well and controlled the middle of the park which made it hard for the opponents to play through the middle as he was winning duals and recovering the ball well which helped his team move up the pitch.

Flop of the game: Dan James

It was an awfully quiet game for him, and it showed as he was hooked off at half time for Kieffer Moore and after that they played so much better in his forty five minute cameo he only managed 15 touches and he didn’t complete a single dribble in that time as well even though he completed eighty percent of his passes it wasn’t a good game for him and it showed as his side were playing better once, he was hooked.

The stats showed it was an even game as Wales dominated the shots on goal with having three whereas Usa only had one shot on target. The possession side showed a different story as the American side had fifty-eight percent whilst the Welsh side had forty-two percent but overall, a draw was a fair result, and it will be key to see how both of these sides bounce back on Friday with games against Iran and England.
