Bromley vs Altrincham Match Report

Altrincham started off the stronger side with Conn Clarke leading the way with his talent and he almost scored early on with him being played through by Amaluzor, but the Bromley goalkeeper did well to come out and clear the ball.

Disaster struck for Bromley soon afterwards as Teenager prodigy Ben Krauhaus, who was making his final appearance at Hayes Lane after being poached by Brentford back in January, and that will surely be his last appearance for Bromley, with Louis Dennis replacing him.

It soon got worse for the side from South London as Altrincham took the lead as a shot from Chris Conn Clarke was turned in by Reagan Linney, who has been excellent for his side in the second half of the season.

Altrincham were the stronger side this half with their excellent defending showing, with Bromley top scorer Michael Cheek barely having a sniff so far due to excellent defending from Altrincham keeping the score at 1-0.

Bromley would come close to an equalizer as Dennis had his shot deflected, but a good save from Ross managed to keep it at 1-0 for Altrincham coming into half time, they will hope to keep it like that as Bromley look lively.

Second half and Bromley looked the livelier side, and soon they would get what they deserved as, from a corner, Myles Weston leaped like a salmon to prod home the equalizer, his first goal for his side after joining from Dagenham and Redbridge back in December.

Things would get better, as from another set piece, more poor defending from Altrincham as they let the ball bounce all the way to the back post for academy graduate Jude Arthurs to head home from close range, the easiest chance he’ll get.

Then soon it would be 3-1 for Bromley as Myles Weston scored his second goal of the game with a ferocious shot from inside the box curling past Ross, who stood no chance. Surely that means it will be another Wembley trip for Andy Woodman’s

Altrincham collapsed in the second half with them looking so lively in the first half, but it just wasn’t to be in the second half, They tried to put the pressure on, and they almost came close with Alex Newby’s free kick hitting the top of the crossbar.

It just wasn’t to be for the team from Manchester as Bromley booked their place in the national league playoff final where they will play Solihull Moors in the final. Both teams have never tasted life in the English football league, so it will be a new experience for either side.

It’s another trip to Wembley for Andy Woodman, who will want to use his experience of winning at Wembley in the past to get Bromley over the line and into the football league for the first time in their history.
